it IS me this time

It’s my turn to host James Lear’s The Back Passage on its international reading tour.

After I’d opened the package and had taken the book out, my initial reaction was ‘wow, I thought it’d be bigger’.

Isn’t it weird how you hear so much about something and, consciously or not, you build up this image of how you expect it to be in real life.

It literally becomes larger than life… no sexual innuendo intended.

About Kris

Reads, rants, randoms & R+s. You've been warned. BTW, don't follow me if you're a GLBTQQphobic wanker. It won't end well. For you.

  1. Lily says:

It may not be as big as you want but I'm sure it will still make you happy. Enjoy it!!

  2. Tam says:

It's not the size that counts. That applies to most things, or so they say. LOL Except pieces of cheesecake, then bigger is better.

Okay guys, I have book 2 ready to go but I can't remember who had book 1. I will start it on the same path. Let me know, its not bigger than book 1. šŸ™‚

  3. OMG, I love James Lear! I have still to read this one. I know it will be EXCELLENT!!! I love that you're doing a tour!

  4. Lily says:

    Tam

Please put me on the list for Book 2. The first one was a blast!!!

    Thanks šŸ™‚

  5. Tam says:

You're on Lily. I'll get it away this week. Anyone else interested just add your name and it will start traveling as well.

  6. Sean Kennedy says:

Do you drink your coffee black? You're so hardcore!

  7. Ingrid says:

Sean is there another way to drink coffee then?

Have fun with your book Kris. I got me some new yaoi from Jen thursday.

  8. Tam says:

    Black, definitely black.

I got some yaoi from Orianna. I had to have an argument with the delivery guy by phone because he didn't want to let my daughter sign for it because she wasn't 18. Finally I beat him down and he left it. LOL

  9. Ingrid says:

    Silly delivery guy!

  10. Kris says:

Lily: Maybe I was disappointed because I wanted to see that cover in life size. LOL.

Tam: *snort* You keep telling yourself that, hun.

Put me down for Book 2 please and I think Jen was before me, but she's busy freezing her arse off on a beach somewhere.

  11. Kris says:

CJ: Reading tours are fun! Would you like to get “The Back Passage” after me??

That actually sounds a lot less dirtier when I say it in my head. LOL.

Sean: Of course to both black coffee and my hardcoreness. I could add something rude, but I'm restraining myself.

Ingrid: Thanks, sweet, but I want to know how come everyone is getting yaoi instead of me. 😦 Maybe I need to go on another shopping spree.

Plus you and Tam need to stop bragging about getting packages in the mail when I'm still yet to get any of my b'day pressies!!!!

  12. Tam says:

I believe a small Samoan man is taking that package I sent you via dug-out canoe at this stage of the game. You should have it by February. Damn postal service.

  13. Kris says:

I guess dug out canoes are slightly faster than carrier pigeons. 😦

  14. orannia says:

I'm no help as I've never heard of this book!

Am glad the 'package' arrived safe and sound Tam šŸ™‚

And obviously I should have used a dug-out canoe…or carrier pigeon for your 'package' Kris! I decided to use the Royal Mail…my mistake šŸ™‚ As for the second 'package' – it will be on its way tomorow. I hate it when the mail service changes the collection dates!

  15. Ingrid says:

Some of mine is under way but I mailed it post haste with the Beagle so somewhere this coming year it should arrive.

  16. Jenre says:

I'll have you know I didn't freeze my arse off. My toes however did get frozen off in the North Sea.

Believe it or not Eldest son went swimming in it. Brrrrrrrr!

  17. Jenre says:

Oh and I'm down for book 2, I think. I got mine sent from Lily and then sent it on to Kris.

  18. Kris says:

Orannia & Ingrid: Royal Mail, beagle, carrier pigeon, dug out canoe, a wish and a prayer – same thing, different name. šŸ˜‰

We have a public hol here today so the 'delayed gratification' thing is working overtime. 😦

Jen, your son is crazy. I shivered just thinking about swimming at those temps. Eeeek!

  19. orannia says:

LOL Kris. Maybe I should have sent a telegram?

My library has The Back Passage, so I think I'll request it. The librarians at my local library will have a field day *grin*

  20. orannia says:

Question – is Book 2 the sequel to The Back Passage or have I completely lost the plot?

  21. Tam says:

Orianna: Yes, it's the sequel, takes place about a couple of years after the first. If you can get the first one at your library we can add you on for the round the world tour of book 2.

  22. Kris says:

Orannia: O_O I've never had a telegram before. Make sure you put lots of 'stops' in so I can hardly understand the message. šŸ˜‰

PS – Let me know what your Librarians say after you make your request. Better still, does your phone have a camera??

  23. orannia says:

Tam – I would love to be added to the world tour please! Thank you so much! And yes, all ordered from my library, and since there is only one copy it's on its way to me now! It sounds very good!

I love the stops in telegrams šŸ™‚ I will definitely let you know what they say – I'll try and pick it up on Friday so that all the librarians are there to comment! They are going to have a field day šŸ™‚ No camera unfortunately 😦
