Then at least explain why I wasn't invited to Scott Towels' and Charmin's wedding. Was she afraid I'd wipe my butt with her? (Heh-heh. A little American commercial humor.)
@ Kris I KNOW – THAT'S WHY I'M CRINGING!!! (Neighbours has a lot to answer for. And Home and Away. OMG, Stone the flamin' crows even Alf won a gold logie this year – what is the world coming to?)
OMG. I'd be prepared to be from Antarctica to get away from Scott & Charlene. They're like the rellies you can't bear to admit to having – the tv show equivalent of having to chew your arm off so you don't wake him/her up in the morning before you scoot off. Nooooooo!! *runs screaming from the room*
OMG! Scott and Charlene's wedding theme!
LOL! I remember that song…. Shit my age is showing again!!!!
I hope you have The Divinyls 'I touch myself' somewhere in there 😉
I loved that song…. still do LOL!
tish
I don't think I've ever heard that song or the group. Must not have gotten play-time across the big pond.
Goodness gracious, great balls of schmaltz.
Can we PUH-LEEZ can the sap?
Put up “Suicide Blonde.” I need to shake the rust off my mattress springs, not rot my teeth.
OK, between you and Sean I now feel really old. I was a teen when Scott and Charlene got married.
WHTH are Scott and Charlene??
And I don't know the song either.
??? I don't know who Charlene and Scott are, but after having listened to their wedding theme I'm afraid of the answer.
BTW, Castanet has a very good point. 😉
Sean: Yes! You have no idea how tempted I was to use that clip.
Tish: Hey! We're not THAT old. 🙂
Does 'I touch myself' count as a love song? Although, granted, it's a good song if you are partnerless and read romance… I think I will stop there.
Tam: It's actually been used in a couple of US films as the cheesiest of love songs. Not sure why.
Rose Tattoo was a big metal/rock pub band in Oz back in the day.
This is a blogger test. Ignore me if this works.
Castanet: No.
Jenre: You were a teen? Sean and I must have been younger than I thought then. 😛
Ingrid: Scott and Charlene's wedding is only the single greatest moment of Ozzie television ever.
Sara: Think about this for a moment… who is more likely to make your like hell – me or Castanet? And remember who knows where you live.
Tam: What if I don't want to ignore it??
Your 80s musical experience and my 80s musical experience bear very little resemblance to each other. 🙂
Chris: I've always had eclectic tastes, but, yes, I admit I was mainly a rock chick in the 80s. Well that and 60s music. LOL.
So I had never heard that song before and I had no idea who Scott and Charlene were.
Thanks to YouTube I was able to see them get married, and hey the best man was Guy Pearce from Priscilla Queen of the Dessert. Loved that movie.
Gosh, elementary school was so long ago, but I'm pretty sure I never heard this one. 0:)
Heidi: I love Priscilla muchly. But did you not recognise the baby version of our very own Kylie??
Eyre: Shut up.
No? No?
Then at least explain why I wasn't invited to Scott Towels' and Charmin's wedding. Was she afraid I'd wipe my butt with her? (Heh-heh. A little American commercial humor.)
The song still sucks.
Castanet: Angry Anderson is a fucking hero, who does a lot of charity work. Don't be dissing him. Ever.
As to Scott and Charlene… Who knows. Maybe your hair wasn't big enough.
I can't remember the song…I do remember Scott and Charlene, but that seems eons ago now…
Orannia: Please don't say aeons in association with having memories of something. It might make some people feel old. Like Jen.
“Castanet: Angry Anderson is a fucking hero, who does a lot of charity work.”
Then why hasn't he ever introduced me to a sugar daddy? Or at least bought me a drink? And what's he so flippin' angry about?
BTW, my hair can be bigger than Everest if I so choose. Snap of the fingers, Oz-cake.
“And what's he so flippin' angry about?”
Okay, I'll spare you some effort and answer my own question.
Mofo's drowning in syrup and has ants in his eyes, that's what!
“bonier” — Not until I hear some jiggy music.
*thinks someone gets even nastier – amazingly – when she's not getting any*
Oh noes! There's cheese and there's cringe. This one's a cringe for me…! Bring me more cheese please!
Kaetrin: WHAT'S THE MATTER WITH YOU?! IT'S SCOTT AND CHARLENE'S WEDDING SONG!
Kris I'm so old I remember going to UWA to see INXS when they were still the Farris Brothers! Don't forget 'never tear us apart'
As for 'I touch myself' well what can I say…. sometimes a er um 'good song' is better than the alternative LOL!
tish
veriword fauqu (my sentiments exactly)
Tish: LOL. I went and saw INXS at the Entertainment Centre during their Kick Tour. I prefer not to think about how old I was.
It was too hard to choose just one INXS song so I was going to ask DJ K to do her top 5. 🙂
“sometimes a er um 'good song' is better than the alternative LOL”
*snort* Too true.
@ Kris I KNOW – THAT'S WHY I'M CRINGING!!! (Neighbours has a lot to answer for. And Home and Away. OMG, Stone the flamin' crows even Alf won a gold logie this year – what is the world coming to?)
Kaetrin: LOL. I know, but that is still no excuse for being positively UNAUSTRALIAN! 😛
You won't convince me – give up now!
😀
AHEM!
Less of the age jokes! There's only 2 years difference between us, which means I have the wisdom that befits my age.
Kaetrin: “You won't convince me – give up now!”
YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF!
I'm reporting you to the Australian Citzenship people, you unpatriotic person you!
Jenre: “There's only 2 years difference between us, which means I have the wisdom that befits my age.”
You're talking about Sean, aren't you.
Hmm, I've never heard that song and I don't know Scott and Charlene. Must've all been before my time. 😛
Jen, you can't be that much older than me seeing as I was officially a teenager when they wed as well!
I've never heard of the group or the song. It's uh, interesting.
Richelle: Don't make me hurt you.
Sean: *muttersuckupmutter*
Tracy: I'm going to choose to think that means you like them.
Kris, please, please don't ban me! I never meant to offend. Can't you forgive my youthful lack of tact? 🙂
Har. Har.
You are so funny, Eyre.
ROFL.
