I’m gonna be all over the place this week so I asked the infamous, yet highly respected, DJ K to fill in here at Kris ‘n’ Good Books:

Oh. Dear.
Oh, gosh, this song brings back memories!
Shouldn't you name be DJ KSC?
Too cute…
Um…
Does DJ K have any cookies?
For a brief moment you threw me a curve. When I read “Ozzie” I thought of Ozzie Osbourne. Like, I don't know, DJ K was writing a list of the 5 songs Ozzie O listens to whilst reading romances. Yes, well. I don't even know if that brat, DJ K, knows who Ozzie Osbourne is.
veriword: “ingeek” – maybe, a little bit! 😉
Well, they won't let us up here in the subversive libertal north watch the video. I remember it though from my …. infancy, yeah, infancy, that's it.
I attribute it to your influence that my first thought on reading this post was about the awful double entendre in the title of the song.
My second was also thinking it weird that Ozzie Osborne had written any songs related to romance.
The Brothers Gibb, talented – yes…also just a little bit creepy in the video.
veri – dizest..what I was a little bit after the flashing light in the BeeGee's video.
Being the youngster that I am, I didn't recognize this song. 🙂
Of course I would have recognized “Night Fever” and “Stayin' Alive.”
yo
Yo, DJ K, where da cookie be at?
Ack! The English teacher in me just died a little bit!
they be back at my crib
yo
miss eyre, you gotta be, like, down with the jive, yo
Hook a girl up! I can dunk those cookies in some mile and re-create some foam that Chris showed me.
dj k be hearing about your cookie dunking, yo i be helping a brother out by keeping him away from your crazy foam ass
It wasn't so much the jive, it was Katiebabs ending with the preposition “at.”
I'll try to be less judgmental of you ladies as you attempt to employ a more urbanized vernacular.
yo
Chris: Hmpf.
Val: I love the Bee Gees. They are awesome.
Katiebabs chook: DJ K is what DJ K requested to be referred to. I try to comply with all my guest's wishes.
Wren: See DJ K's comment to Katiebabs. They're apparently hiding out in DJ K's 'crib'.
Sara: “I don't even know if that brat, DJ K, knows who Ozzie Osbourne is.”
Good point. Although, let's face it, DJ K knew about the Bee Gees so anything is possible.
Tam: I should have remembered that Canadians are well known for their revolutionary behaviour inspired by the Bee Gees. My apologies, Tam.
*munch munch* DJ K has the best cookies and the biggest disco ball I've ever seen in her bedroom.
Heidi: You have a filthy mind. I would never have thought of such a thing and I resent your implication that I would. *sniff*
Eyre: Thank you for making me feel old. No seriously. I mean it. *sociopathicrainbowtroutstareofdeath*
“I'll try to be less judgmental of you ladies as you attempt to employ a more urbanized vernacular.”
*sigh* Eyre, don't encourage them.
Eyre, have you ever seen The Grammar Nazi video at College Humor? They did a spoof of Inglourious Basterds: http://www.collegehumor.com/video:1935115
Stephani, thanks for the link! Now I understand why one of my students asked me if I was a grammar Nazi not too long ago. 🙂
@Chris and Wren – LMAO!! Like my niece says, OH BY DOD!!! This is why
I love this blog, so friggin funny 🙂
recognize
Hey, that isn't the Prince of Darkness! I can understand those guys!
In all seriousness — heh, yeah — I prefer “To Love Somebody.” Honest, I do.
May we hear INXS “Suicide Blonde” next? It's not terribly romantic, but it's mighty good humpin' music. 🙂
Sorry. Castanet snuck in the last paragraph.
I felt compelled to go and find another version at YouTube just so I could sway along.
Does it make me a complete dork to point out how many fabulous songs the Bee Gees wrote? Like thousands, and they didn't even sing some of the ones that were my faves lol! They can write for sure…but I don't know about the beards though *smirks*
KZ: I thought Castanet was on meds still. She off them now??
Tam: You go, girl.
Elaine: *hehehe* You said 'beards'.
Burt Bacarach and the Bee Gees. My Gods. 🙂
“I felt compelled to go and find another version at YouTube just so I could sway along.”
now dat's what ime talkin' a-BOUT
you gotta feel that sheeit
I like this version of “To Love Somebody” better. 🙂
That's fucking hilarious. *g*
Ha! “A stitch in time saves nine … inches”. Funny
Hahaha, I thought you were sharing the Bloody Prince of Darkness' favorite love songs. Maybe next time?
Anyways, I love the BeeGees so all is good.
@Eyre… Loved that link. Too funny!
*thanking God that Castanet's link doesn't work*
Lily: “I thought you were sharing the Bloody Prince of Darkness' favorite love songs. Maybe next time?”
I'll see what I can do for you. 🙂
KZ: I guess that means that all Castanet's bragging about how skills at giving head are all lies then.
I love cheesy music – the Bee Gees are awesome! Bring it on!
(Also I am being quietly proud that our own Ricki Lee made it on to the Sex & The City 2 soundtrack – that's a big deal for a gal who got her start on Australian Idol I'd reckon. Hey, maybe she'll get really famous and have a brilliant career in the US and we won't have to put up with her anymore. What? I can be proud and bag her too! It's my right as an Australian!)
Kaetrin: You are probably going to have as much fun this week as I did when I saw/heard what DJ K chose. *g*
“I can be proud and bag her too! It's my right as an Australian!”
Absolutely! God help anyone else who dares, though. *cracks knuckles*
oh, this is going to be fun!!
*GRIN*
What Kris said 🙂
So there! 😛
I used to love the Bee Gee's. Does that show how old I am? lol St. Pepper's was the best.
And now that I've read Eyre's comment I feel really old! lolol
Tracy: FYI, I'm thinking of banning Eyre from commenting during this particular series.
