For some reason I’ve been sleeping like poo lately and, as a result, my brain has turned to complete mush. *I fear the oozing out of the ears will begin soon.*
Anyhoo… before I give you *and me* a cookie in reward for surviving yet another week, I thought I’d hook you in to some recent posts about cover art. Particularly pertinent as I’ve been taking the piss out of them lately:
* Emmy found some book cover spoofs and shared them here. I really like the Sandra Hill one. I’m also pretty sure I have the sense of humour of a 12 year old boy sometimes. 😉
* On a more serious note, via Val of Obsidian Bookshelf (have you checked out her blog yet? it’s great. 🙂 ) I found an interesting essay about book covers and their creation and composition by artist Fanny Hill. She includes examples together with an analysis and/or response – both positive and negative – of covers she’d found online. Quite intriguing to get an ‘in-house’ perspective on this topic.
