Other than that can someone please explain to me if there is any sort of etiquette involved in friending people at Good Reads or any other site cos I live in rabid fear of offending someone.

Etiquette? Hmmmm….if it's someone I know from the blogs I go to then I friend them…or an author. If I don't know you then I really have to check out what you read first.
If there is some etiquette, I totally broke it when I joined by sending friend requests to people I didn't know but whose reviews I enjoyed. I think they all accepted and not one sent me a “Who the fuck are you” response. 😛

I befriended a bunch of people, well, I tried, maybe they'll reject me, this will send me spiraling into a massive depression, I'll have to be hospitalized and fed my m/m intravenously and it will all be your fault. I got a request from Jen but didn't know what to do, figuring I didnt want to do good reads but what if I said no?! So I deleted it and now sweat it out for when she realizes.
I haven't friended anyone yet. To be frank, I didn't really see the point, but now I'm thinking it might be a good way to find new books to read.

I was worried about the whole friending authors thing too– that's why I only friended Rick Reed and Josh 'cause I was pretty sure I wouldn't think their books were poo. There is always the option of following an author without friending them.

I started with a friend request I received thru the Torquere Yahoo group and from there I've added friends from blogs and LJ. As I interact with them I've found others with similar taste that are their friends and either they send request or I've sent it.
It's a friend of a friend is now my friend 😉
