… I’m loving this and feel the need to share.

Thanks Chris for introducing me to this song and artist. Hope you all like it as much as I do. 🙂

About Kris

Reads, rants, randoms & R+s. You've been warned. BTW, don't follow me if you're a GLBTQQphobic wanker. It won't end well. For you.

  1. Chris says:

You're very welcome! Love the lyrics, too:

    “Two bodies pressed together
    Two boys are falling hard
The smell of sweat and leather
    A kinky greeting card”

  2. Val says:

Very endearing! He has such a nice smile.

  3. He's got an amazing voice, wow – Love this, just went and downloaded 2 of his albums from Itunes – thank you!

  4. This is a great song. That Chris sure knows how to find 'em!

  5. Chris says:

    Aww. 🙂

  6. Tam says:

I have that song on my ipod. My friend Ryan introduced me to it. Craig posted one on his blog once but I can't remember what song. It starts with Jay talking at the beginning and he's dressed up in a shirt and tie and it sounds like he's a flight attendant, then at the end he goes “Fuck did I sound gay?” or something like that. Very funny and yes, he totally sounded gay. Ah found it

  7. Chris says:

I hadn't seen the video for that one before – thanks, Tam!

  8. Thanks for the intro – sweet voice..

    E.H>

  9. Kris says:

Chris: I adore it and, yep, loving the lyrics:

“I want to have his babies
I want to wear his ring
    He drives me fucking crazy
    I'm his every thing”

    Awesome. *g*

Val: He has a gorgeous smile. I love the way he smiles to himself when he sings certain lines. It's great.

  10. Ingrid says:

To my dutch ears it sound so country. And if there is one kind of music you don't hear in NL it is country

  11. Chris says:

    Ingrid: It's folk! Definitely folk.

  12. Ingrid says:

Whatever Chris, you don't hear that here either on main stream radio

  13. Kris says:

Jenn: Welcome! I'm so glad that you're loving Jay Brannan as much as I did/do. There's just something about him…

    Wren: She sure does! 🙂

Tam: Thanks for the link. Hes so did sound gay. Too funny, and another great song.

  14. Chris says:

Actually, you don't hear that here on mainstream radio, either… Lots of music like this makes its way via word of mouth.

  15. Kris says:

EH: Thank Chris. 🙂 He's got a terrific voice.

Ingrid: As Chris said, it's folksy. You don't really here that type of genre on our mainstream radio either, but there are a few less commercial stations in Oz that are likely to play it.

  16. Kris says:

Chris: “Lots of music like this makes its way via word of mouth.”

    Hey, me too! 😉

  17. Tam says:

Same here. I've never heard him on the radio it was Ryan who told me and I told two friends and they told two friends….

Okay, am I the only one who remembers that old shampoo commercial? Am I aging myself?

Owl City is new on the radio here but my daughter was way into him well before he made it mainstream, through YouTube and friends she found him.

  18. Yes Tam you are dating yourself. Problem is, I remember those ads, too.

The music industry is changing, with so many indie bands making their way due to internet success!

  19. Kris says:

Tam: “Okay, am I the only one who remembers that old shampoo commercial? Am I aging myself? “

Well, Wren seems to think so but I've no fucking idea what you're on about.

Wren: “The music industry is changing, with so many indie bands making their way due to internet success!”

Exactly… just like the boys in Heaven Sent. 🙂

  20. Please tell me you don't know about “and she'll tell two friends” because they didn't have Faberge Organics in Oz, not because you're too young to remember!

(sound quality is bad, but you'll get the idea)

  21. Kris says:

Okay, I rang Mumma and she says that no, we probably didn't have the ads in Oz.

    Does that make you happier??

  22. I'm not sure. The fact that you had to check with your MOTHER is not encouraging.

  23. Kris says:

    Oh.

    Good point.

    *gigglesnort*

  24. *poutmoperainbowtroutstareofdeath*

  25. Kris says:

Geez. Some people sure get sensitive as the get ol- errm…

  26. What? I can't hear you!

  27. Kris says:

I SAID, LUCKY I SAW A COUPLE OF EPISODES OF MELROSE PLACE OTHERWISE I WOULDN'T EVEN KNOW WHO HEATHER LOCKLEAR IS.

  28. Oh, yes, roses are lovely. But what's this about feathers locked on your ears?

  29. Kris says:

NOT ME. I SAID, CHRIS – YOU KNOW THE OTHER ONE – WILL BE UP FOR ANYTHING AFTER A FEW BEERS.

  30. Oh, yes, someone's butt will be up when we cheer!

  31. Kris says:

FOR FUCKS SAKE… WILL SOMEONE PLEASE HELP THIS POOR OLD DEAR?!

  32. Mumma J says:

    To Wren

I'm sitting at Kris's place and she's asking me for words that rhyme with 'near'???

    You girls are crazy!!!

  33. Yes, let's pour out the beer! I'm sure Chris has had enough by now.

Mumma J I'm so glad you're there to help poor Kris. She's a dear but I think she has a little problem with her hear-ing.

  34. Mumma J says:

    to Wren

I've been told not to encourage you!

  35. Wait, aren't you the Mumma? Who's in charge over there?

And how in the universe did we get to THIS point from I Wanna Be A Housewife?

    We ARE crazy!

  36. Kris says:

IT'S MY HOUSE. I'M IN CHARGE!

    “We ARE crazy!”

WELL, THAT WOULD CERTAINLY EXPLAIN WHY I'M STILL SHOUTING.

    *ahem*

  37. Kris, did you say something?

    *giggle*
    *gigglegiggle*
    *gigglegigglesnortgiggle*
    *gaffaw*

  38. Goodnight, Kris! *kisses*

  39. Kris says:

    Yeah, yeah.

  40. orannia says:

    I so wasn't expecting those lyrics 🙂

    He has a great voice!

  41. Kris says:

Orannia: LOL. I never thought of that. Most probably weren't expecting those lyrics. 🙂
