books that sucker you in: the animal

The fact I’m a sucker for a veterinarian story was probably a good indication that I can’t resist a story incorporating animals either.

Swear to God.

Put a dog on a book cover and I’m like a friggin’ 5 year old; “Puppy! Want!”

And don’t even get me started about dragons…

About Kris

Reads, rants, randoms & R+s. You've been warned. BTW, don't follow me if you're a GLBTQQphobic wanker. It won't end well. For you.

  1. Kris says:

I'm pretty sure that we had a vote on this and agreed that it would always be your turn. *kiss, kiss*

  2. Chris says:

Um, no. Nope. Have I mentioned how stubborn I am?

  3. Kris says:

    Fine!

Let's get Tam to do it.

  4. Tam says:

What, what? What the hell am I doing? I'm not writing anything from a cat's POV but I might be convinced to read it.

Okay, I looked, that cover is so damn adorable. If you buy it for me I will read it. 😀 How's that for sacrifice.

  5. Kris says:

Chris told me that she would buy it for you, Tam.

  6. Chris says:

    Check your email, Tam. 😀

  7. Kris says:

*Wow, my psychic abilities are on fire today. Let's see what else I can do…*

  8. Chris says:

Well, Kris, I value Tam enough to spring for a $1.25 book for her. 😉

  9. Kris says:

    *wipes tears from eyes*

You're the best fucking friend ever.

    Now where's mine?!

  10. Chris says:

    *smiles sweetly*

  11. Kris says:

I knew you loved Tam more than me. 😦

  12. Chris says:

You said you didn't want to read it! 😀

  13. Kris says:

I'm not speaking to you any more.

  14. Chris says:

That's probably for the best, based on how confused I am now.

  15. Tam says:

So do I make you wait until Saturday for the review?

  16. Chris says:

What's the take-home message of the review?

  17. Tam says:

It had potential, Gracie is cute as a button, but when Gracie was napping it lost some of the lustre.

  18. Chris says:

I look forward to the full review on Saturday!

  19. Kris says:

Tam, can you please address in your review whether Gracie's voice was authentic or not? I think that this is an important issue readers will want to know.

  20. Tam says:

Yes, I think Gracie's voice was appropriately kittenish, based on my experience with kittens. However, never having been one myself, I can't say for certain.

It's only 6 pages by the way, so not a lot of time for kitten character development and she does nap an awful lot as kittens are wont to do.

  21. Chris says:

Also, Val's sure to wonder if the author bio was written by a cat.

LOL! My veri word is furproph. Fur Prophet?

  22. Tam says:

No author bio. In fact it's a weird layout, which I'll discuss.

  23. Sean Kennedy says:

hdsmith, thanks! Glad you liked it!

But if you've converted, you have to say who your team is. (If it's Collingwood, we shall never speak of it again.)

  24. hdsmith says:

    Carn the Dockers!!!

  25. Kris says:

    Woot! You go, Heidi!

Freo are playing the Saints today. It should be a great game.
