I think the second one is ugly. Why do that? Sigh. If you've already paid for one cover, why pay for more? Seems like poor business sense to me.

I don't like it when the covers change because I'll buy it over again by mistake, and my husband gets wound up about it from an aesthetic point of view — he wants the series in the collection to have the same type of cover. Is that too much to ask? I don't think so.

I'm with you Kris. I wasn't very happy about the JD Robb covers changing either. And, don't even get me started when they not only change the style but they change the SIZE too! Just wrecks my lovely shelves. sigh…

Please say NO if I ask you to come stay with me. Your OCD wouldn't be able to handle living in my house for more than a few minutes LOL! Most of my book series are not only different sizes but have at least 3 different ccovers. One set has pictures, flowers and then drawings. And they go from paperback to big paperback.
I also don't colour code or put series together…. bad me!

I just hate the changes made to the MJ Pearson books – The Price of Temptation & Discreet Young Gentleman.
The original covers were fantastic – so 1980's bodice rippers (zipper ripper, really as m/m) & definitely smuggling a ferret, but the new versions – nooooo!

I don't really care if my book covers don't match within a series. With the BDB for example I have a couple of ebooks, a couple of US covers and then that unfortunate greenish thing.
One thing I hate though is when I buy an ebook that has a nice cover only in the ebookstore and the bought version doesn't have a cover at all 😦
I don't know why anyone would change those original Patricia Briggs covers – they're some of the best I've ever seen.
