gratuitous cookies

It has been a busy week and I am absolutely exhausted.

With only a week to go till I leave for the US, I am also freaking out about what I need to get done beforehand.

Freaking. Out. Badly.

My ‘to do’ lists are cross referenced. In colour.

Yes, I am that bad.

Anyhoo, since I am suffering badly from mushy brain, I’m giving you cookies.

I’m sure you will be disappointed. *rolls eyes*

    Clinching cookies! Yum!

I have a plastic bin to which I'm adding stuff that must be packed. And a smudgy list. Um, that's about it.

  2. Chris says:

    Because I don't have OCD?

  3. Tam says:

Lists? Ummm. I printed out my air ticket. Woohoo, go me. Over the years I've gotten less anal about traveling and we are pretty much “pack the night before; if I forgot it I'll buy it there or go without” type travelers. Kid's responsible for getting the kid to feed the pets, I have money now, so I'm good. 🙂

Mojo that your brain doesn't explode before you go. It will all come together, it always does.

  4. Kris says:

    😦

*grumbles* I need an anti-OCD blocker or something.

    *poutmope*

  5. Twimom227 says:

You are coming to US?? How did I miss that? What parts? Anywhere close to me? Have a safe trip!

    Thank you for the cookies!

  6. Jambrea says:

Thank you for the yummy cookies! 🙂

  7. Kris says:

Jen: I'm just doing Vegas, SF and LA. Are you near there at all??

Jambrea: It was the least I could do given the cookie you gave me. 😉

  8. Lily says:

Great cookies, I totally love #2.

I don't do too much traveling but when I do I usually end up finishing just before leaving. Hope you're able to relax a bit and that you have a fabulous time in the U.S.

  9. Jenre says:

I'm trying to ignore it. Really. I have a bag and it looks too small. Every time I start thinking about what needs to go in it I have a mental mind melt!

I need to start a list.

    or two.

It doesn't help that I can't get a handle on what the weather is going to do and therefore can't work out whether I'm packing my summer clothes or need to bring jumpers. Plus I've worked out I need to bring at least 4 pairs of shoes but I don't think I'll fit that in my bag.

Then I have my Mother offering 'helpful' advice such as “only take 2 pairs of knickers cos you can wash them out in the sink each day”.

    *groan*

  10. Kris says:

Lily: “… but when I do I usually end up finishing just before leaving…”

That's just sick. I'm going to have nightmares tonight.

Jen: Sweetie, have you forgotten that you will probably be buying books too? Bring a bigger bag. Trust me on this.

  11. nichem says:

    Thanks for the cookies!

Good luck with your packing, but try not to stress too much. Like Tam said, if you forget something, you can just pick it up in SF (we have lots of stores in the US, you know). Are you getting your iPad while you're here?

  12. Yay! You will be marginally closer to my general area of living!

Thanks for the cookies and have tons of fun at the Yaoi Con!!!!

  13. Chris says:

Four pairs of shoes, Jen?! WHY??

  14. Are there three men in that last pic or are my eyes playing tricks with me?

Oww, how sweet that you're stressing for your trip to SF! Hope you'll survive this last week before take off so you can have a fabulous time at the con and the rest of your destinations! 🙂

*I'm so jealous that you guys are going to meet each other*

  15. Lilli says:

*lol* My impression also that there are more than two involved in the last pic.

But I love no. 2. So cute. Wish I knew the story to that one…

Thanks for the cookies, Kris. 🙂 Unfortunately I can't reciprocate with anti-OCD blockers.

  16. ElaineG says:

Like I'd complain about cookies sheesh! *giggle* and clinching ones no less….btw, I lurv that word CLINCH just love it!

I am SO glad to know that I am not the only person that does color-coded lists…it's a relief to know I am not as weird as people tell me.

Have a great weekend, and make sure to cross off the things on the lists you actually accomplish, personally I use a hiliter *snort*

  17. Ingrid says:

I am not talking to you all!! *troutstareofwhateveritiskrisdoes* What am I going to do while you are away??

Those cookies will only help for a couple of minutes

  18. Tracy says:

Awww I love the hugging cookies. And hugging tightly! yum.

Am I supposed to be making lists? I'll get right on that. 🙂

    I CAN'T WAIT!

  19. Ingrid says:

I don't make lists, I am a last minute/ night before packer. It is a big effort to remind myself to charge the battery of my camera before I leave.

  20. Kris says:

Richelle: “we have lots of stores in the US, you know”

I've heard that. 😛 I'm hoping to get an iPad there. I just need to make sure it will work here first.

    Thanks Miranda. 🙂

Janna: “Are there three men in that last pic or are my eyes playing tricks with me?”

It's the way the cookies are snuggling.

Thanks for your wishes. I hope I survive this week so you can have something to be jealous about too. 😉

  21. Kris says:

Lilli: I'm think rock stars hooking up for #2. Yummy. 🙂

    “Unfortunately I can't reciprocate with anti-OCD blockers.”

Bummer, although I think I have gone way past that point now. Not good. Eek.

Elaine: Clinch is a GREAT word.

“Have a great weekend, and make sure to cross off the things on the lists you actually accomplish, personally I use a hiliter *snort*”

LOL. I like to get out my aggression by scribbling the finished item out so hard that it rips the paper and I have to start a new list.

    I also procrastinate.

  22. Kris says:

Ingrid: I am still not talking to you either! And I will still be here posting stuff. Maybe not as frequently, but I will be here. Pinky swear.

Tracy: Are you all trying to make me feel bad cos I'm the only one making lists??

    I can't wait either. :DDD

  23. Chris says:

I admitted to having a list!! And a plastic bin that I'm tossing things into so I don't forget them!

  24. Aw, huggy, snuggy, wuggy cookies are always so sweet.

  25. Kris says:

Chris: You're half arsed about it. You need to be hard core.

    Stephani: They are. 🙂

  26. Kaetrin says:

Are you going to the US for business, blog “business” (eg – romance convention), or fun? How long will you be there for? Will we have to do without your awesomeness for the whole time or will you post while you're away? Tell all!

  27. Kris says:

    Kaetrin: LOL. So demanding. 😉

The main purpose of my visit is to go to the yaoi convention in San Francisco. Jenre, Tam, Chris and Tracy are all coming with as well as some other peeps. The yaoi convention is generally the place where the m/m pubs and authors tend to do the meet and greet thing too.

While I'm there I'm also doing a few touristy things including going to Vegas and driving from SF down to LA. Tracy has organised a bloggers and authors meet there too which is bound to be a heap of fun.

And, yes, I'll be blogging while I'm away. Perhaps not as much as I would ordinarily do though. 🙂

  28. orannia says:

    I loves you!

And breathe! Because I am sure you have a wonderful time…and I'm very jealous! (Does that help?)

I need an anti-OCD blocker or something.

    They exist?

  29. Kris says:

Orannia: The jealousy things helps :P, but I could still use something to block my OCD.
