So on Saturday after lunch with the Mumma and the Stepmumma and the double-whammy guilt trip about looking after myself, the Mumma and I went to my tame book store to pick up the gazillion books she had ordered.
I love this place and the three girls who work there. I seriously do.
There is nothing like walking into a bookstore and feeling at home, right?
Now imagine if that place had bookshelves filled with romance, which was all categorised correctly, and where the staff knew what they were talking about AND were more than happy to chat about recent reads and give recommendations.
It’s heaven. *dreamy sigh*
Anyways, the Mumma walked out with her two bags of books. *I know. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree in this family. Obviously* I left with the whole two books I’d wanted. *Willpower. I haz it. Occasionally.*
AND the two m/m romances one of the girls had picked up for me at RT in LA.
AND a personalised autograph from Rachel Caine who was recently here.
How cool is that!
How cool are they!
Told you I love ’em. *GRIN*
Seriously though, if you are in Oz, you can’t look past Temptation: The Romance Bookstore. They are Teh Awesomesauce.
Oh, and they ship overseas.
You’re welcome.
*hehehe*

No wonder you love them! They know you so well. 🙂
I have one of those brick and mortar stores that I spend hours in… the kids even have their number programmed into their phones for when they cant find me..
I love the one to one customer service and the fact I can sit and read and have a cup of tea and just be…. bliss..
Love it…
Passing many good thoughts for your little hub away from home…
🙂
Chris: LOL. They do. <3
EH: “… the kids even have their number programmed into their phones for when they cant find me…”
I love this, EH. That's so awesome. 🙂
It is such bliss when you find a place/a book store that suits you so very well, isn't it. The Mumma and I have dreamed about opening up such as place. That would be my idea of heaven.
Bookstores – such bliss. If they opened up a bookstore/coffee shop/hotel, I'd book in for a week (or so).
Juni: Have you ever read The Bachelor Brothers' Bed & Breakfast? You might enjoy it…
Wicked!
I cried for weeks (ok, still not over it) when my bookstore closed down. Hubs doesn't know this but one of my 'conditions' when looking for a house was the distance from a bookstore.
Next time I'm in Oz I'm putting Temptation Bookstore on my visit list.
It sounds like heaven Kris. A good trip, time well spent I would say.
I don't have a shop like it although the American book store on the Spui has a very decent sci-fi collection. But only a mediocre romance selection.
Juni: That would be so awesome. Even better if it had cozy little hide aways where you could curl up and read and where people would magically appear whenever you needed a cuppa or chocolates or tissues or sex or a catheter…
Miranda: Yup. 🙂
KC: “Hubs doesn't know this but one of my 'conditions' when looking for a house was the distance from a bookstore.”
*snort* I luff you, and if you are ever in Perth I'll definitely take you there. 🙂
Ingrid: Bummer. Whenever I got to Sydney I demand being taken to this awesome spec fic bookshop there… and I always leave several $$ shorter. Naturally.
Ohhhh, sounds like an amazing place!
Orannia: It is. 🙂
Your evil! “And the ship overseas” STOP TAUNTING ME!
Oh, this reminds me – I need to send you your swag from RT.
Glad you had fun – sounds like an awesome place.
Tracy: You live in romance book heaven! Your problem is that you have no willpower.
“Oh, this reminds me – I need to send you your swag from RT.”
You mean you haven't yet?!
You're totally correct – I have no willpower at all. Sometimes that's a good thing, other times, not so much.
Hey! No offense baby but with all the shit going on in my life at the moment that was really the last thing on my priority list.Because I like you just a wee bit I will attempt to make some sense out of it this weekend and mail you a package. 🙂
I can't believe that you would put your family and life before me, Tracy. You're just lucky I love you.
