maybe it’s me, but…

I took this screen shot last week cos it was bugging the hell out of me.

What’s with the lassoey font?

You think maybe the cowboy theme wasn’t obvious enough to readers??

Weird.

About Kris

Reads, rants, randoms & R+s. You've been warned. BTW, don't follow me if you're a GLBTQQphobic wanker. It won't end well. For you.

Just 'cause a guy is wearing a plaid shirt and hat doesn't mean he's a cowboy. He could just be a gay boy hitting the clubs in NYC. 🙂 There does seem to be a theme there.

  2. KB/KT Grant says:

Not enough man titty. Too many plaid shirts covering the gratuitous man flesh.

I got Tyler at BEA. The author says it has hot bar sex in it.

  3. Chris says:

Maybe there's a secret code that we don't know – if book has a guy in a cowboy hat on it, but doesn't have the rope font (or vice versa), it's an imposter?

  4. Kris says:

Tam: Well, there are horses and country scenes too, but, you're right, could totally be an urban cowboy bar in NYC. 😛

KBC: I saw your latest post. You're obsessed with man titty.

Let's hope the hot bar sex happens in a clean bar cos otherwise… ew.

Chris: You think? Maybe we should create a check list?

For example, lasso font + guy in a cowboy hat + country scene + horse + someone riding a horse + dry paddock + guy wearing a checked shirt + cowboy in the title = a real cowboy book.

    Apparently…

  5. Juni says:

Do they still have a white hat/black hat code?

  6. Kris says:

You sure you didn't mean scarves, Juni? 😛

Hmm…maybe not. What says cowboy? And when we say cowboy are we referring to US-specific cowboys? *steps* back. I'm taking this too literally, aren't I? I blame it on watching too many Westerns growing up – Maverick, Bonanza, the Virginian (my alltime favourite).

  8. Kris says:

We don't have cowboys here, Orannia. You should know that. They're stockmen. You've been badly influenced by all those US westerns. *tsk, tsk*

  9. Ingrid says:

Think the font is meant to be “romantic”

  10. Kris says:

Because it's all loopy and stuff, Ingrid?? Well, okay then.

    *ashamed* Sorry. *slinks*

  12. Kris says:

    *shakes head*

  13. Kaetrin says:

I actually picked up Hell Yeah at the Borders closing down sale a few weeks back. I'm not usually into cowboys, but this looked like it might not suck and it was cheap.

Kris – you might not realise this, but some readers (not us of course, but some) really are that stupid. 🙂

Let me guess… and they all live in the US. 😛
