end-of-year bandwagon wrap-ups #6

As a lot of you know, I haven’t been reading a whole heap this year – one of the fall-outs of not being in the greatest of mental health.

Stupid brain.

Despite this, I did get in a couple of reads in 2011.  Some of which were even worthy of my time.  πŸ˜›

One of these was the subject of much pimpage; not only to me, but to what I’m sure was at least half of the m/m community.

Oh, yeah.  She was that bad.

*ponders* Maybe she has become a super top seekrit marketing agent for m/m authors??

Naw.  I’m sure she would have blabbed about that already.  ;P

Where was I??

Right.

The subject of the pimpage was Knight Errant by K. D. Sarge.  The book pimp… seriously, you actually need me to tell you?  Surely, you remember getting that email from her?  And I thought my mind was a sieve.  It was Chris

I could actually see the virtual light bulb switch on then.

Heh.

She’s just lucky that Knight Errant lived up to her ravings or there would have been much blood shed… and not all of it by me.

Did anyone sucker you in this year?  If so, what were the best and worst – naturally – of the books pimped to you in 2011?

About Kris

Reads, rants, randoms & R+s. You've been warned. BTW, don't follow me if you're a GLBTQQphobic wanker. It won't end well. For you.

  1. Tam says:

Hmmm. I can never remember. I'm always going “oh, I should read that” and then forgetting what “that” was.

I think Jen recommended Goldilocks and his Three Bears and the sequel which I enjoyed a great deal.

Lord of the White Hell by Ginn Hale recommended by many but I know Jen and Kassa for sure.

Wicked Gentlemen, also by Ginn Hale and recommended by Jen. (Gee, wonder who my main book pimp is?)

Speaking of Jen (and Cole), Out of the Woods by Syd McGinley which normally would be totally not my style but I read it after they said it was great and loved it. Must read the sequel.

I can't think of any that were duds that were recs from anyone. I certainly read several that didn't turn my crank but I can only blame myself. πŸ™‚

  2. KB/KT Grant says:

If I said Sir Terry, what would you do?

  3. Kris says:

Tam: “Gee, wonder who my main book pimp is?”

Gee, I have no idea whatsoever. πŸ˜›

KBC: I would have to cut you out of my life for ever and ever, the end.

  4. Chris says:

Aw, you say the nicest things! πŸ˜€

The problem with your end of the year posts is that I can't actually remember much before 15 minutes ago. No one's recommended a book during that time…

  5. Kris says:

Hell, Chris, even if someone recommended a book in that time, I'm not sure even you would be able to read it that quickly… then again…

  6. Chris says:

If it was one of those 10 page TQ stories…. πŸ˜‰

  7. Jason says:

I had to make shelves on my goodreads just so I could remember recs. I also have trouble remembering things that happened more than…

    what was I saying?

  8. Kris says:

Chris: Good point. Where's Tam when we need her??

Jase: I hope for your guy's sake you don't say that in bed. :p

  9. Chris says:

    Wondertwin!! *pounce hugs Jase*

  10. Jason says:

    ~squeee, snuggles Chris~

@Kris- No he keeps reminding me again and again, harder and harder, what we were 'talking' about. πŸ˜€

  11. Kris says:

    You're such a braggart, Jase.

  12. orannia says:

How did I miss the Knight Errant pimpage? Or…perhaps I did not miss it but just forgot? 'Cause I ain't remembering much ATM! Just looked it up on GoodReads and it sounds goood….but it doesn't seem to be at ARe… *pout*

Hmmm. When it comes to book pimpage this year I would have to say (in no particular order – OK, alphabetical πŸ™‚ Chris, Kassa & Jen. Every time I see what they are reading on GoodReads my TBR list gets bigger (I have so many books I really want to read it's not funny). Maybe being on GR is my problem?

  13. Mariana says:

I'm with orannia… GR is causing me to go way out of my budget. Chris, Tam, Jenre, Janna, Hilcia, orannia, Christine and Cole are to blame for it mostly.

  14. Kris says:

Orannia: “… in no particular order – OK, alphabetical…”

    OCD. We haz it, Precioussssss.

GR is an evil, evil thing, which is why I turned off my updates… and not for any other reason…

    *cough*

Mariana: *clutchespearlslikeshe'sjustseenataxidermiedkangarooscrotum* You have a budget?????

  15. Mariana says:

That's the only way I get to pay bills, eat and pay mortgage… Otherwise it will all go to books. If I didn't have a child, all that other stuff wouldn't be a concern. Although, the budget for books is pretty high… some would say too high. That is unbelievable to me.

  16. Kris says:

Mariana: A book budget can never be too high. Those people are idiots.

  17. orannia says:

    OCD. We haz it, Precioussssss.

    CDO? *grin*

And I have now received an official recommendation for Knight Errant from Chris πŸ™‚

  18. Kris says:

    Orannia: Or CDO. LOL.

Good to hear the you have been pimped to all official like now. I'm pretty sure that Chris earns extra points that way. ;P

  19. Chris says:

    No comment. πŸ˜‰

  20. Chris says:

    Hey now. πŸ˜€

  21. Kris says:

Don't even pretend that you're not proud of yourself.

  22. Chris says:

    *glows quietly*

  23. Kris says:
