maybe it’s me, but…

… actually I’m pretty positive it’s not just me this time.

I found the below and thought I’d share it with all of you, who, regardless of whether you’ve read/not read or love/hate the Twilight series, are as fucking sick as I am of all the damn hype.

Enjoy!

  1. I love Twilight and all those freaky ass flying sparkling vampire squirrels.

  2. Tam says:

OMG, that last girl is wearing my shoes. LOL

I haven't noticed too much hype lately although I guess they are gearing up for the next one. I ignore the magazines in the supermarket unless they have pics of celebs looking worse than I do. 🙂 Overkill is not a pretty thing.

  3. Sean Kennedy says:

I think I'm more amused by the appalling grammar in the last one.

RPattz can do no wrong. He was Cedric Fucking Diggory, people!

  4. wren says:

Why oh why is nobody drooling over the werewolf? I read all the damn books and know how Jacob ends up and I'm not happy about it but I am looking forward to the fur and teeth in this movie.

    Sparklz? Not so much.

  5. Tam says:

Sean, he was cuter as Cedric Diggory but seriously Oliver Wood was hotness personified. And his real name? Biggerstaff. How can you not love a guy with that name. He's either incredibly lucky or bragging. 🙂

  6. Kris says:

KBC: Squirrels, huh. I hear they're a pest in Europe and the US. Not so much here. Too much sun I guess.

I loved Twilight, the 2nd book was good, the 3rd book was ok and the fourth was so unbelievably predictable it wasn't funny. I'll watch the movies prob'lt, but OMFG do we HAVE to see their friggin' pics everywhere!!

    *deep breaths*

Tam: We are getting unbelievably over-killed here in Oz at the moment. I swear to God I'm wishing that Brittney would have a breakdown or something just so that I don't have to see them at the supermarket check out all the bloody time.

Sean: No wrong?? That's what nearly evey teenage girl on the planet and obviously a percentage of gay men think.

Even knowing the sparkly ending, I just wish Edward would friggin' die like Cedric.

  7. Kris says:

Wren, I'm so Team Jacob with you. Now that guy is absolutely delicious for a young 'un, even if he might smell like wet dog.

Pasty and weird eyebrows? Not so attractive. Take that from personal experience of being an anemic person of Eastern European de(s)cent.

Tam: “but seriously Oliver Wood was hotness personified”

Hell yes. That boy was made even more scrumptious with that accent. Nommy!

  8. Ingrid says:

Since I have not read HP or seen twilight I will not reply *g*

  9. Jenre says:

I've not read the Twilight books or seen the film so all this hype is sailing over my head. All the teens I know on FB keep sending each other squeeing messages about it (and RPattz) so I've concluded that I must be too old to care for him or it.

btw, I'm with Tam on the Oliver Wood thing. He had an accent to die for even if he is clearly 20 years younger than myself :).

  10. orannia says:

You knew I reading New Moon, right? Am definitely enjoying it more than Twilight…but then I'm hanging out for some quality Jacob time 🙂 I'm with you Wren *grin*

No overkill here yet. I'm actually hanging out to see Fame at the end of the month! I still remember the original TV series! (Now, that dates me I'm sure 🙂

  11. Kris says:

Ingrid: Very diplomatic of you. 🙂

Jen: “I've not read the Twilight books or seen the film so all this hype is sailing over my head.”

Lucky you. It's effin' peeing me off!

Orannia: Yep. Jacob would rip Edward's sparkly head off inna fight.

Fame?? I thought the movie was ok, but never got into the series at all. Not my thing, I'm afraid.

  12. Tam says:

Orianna: I loved Fame the TV show. Not sure I ever saw the movie. But really can there ever be another Coco or Leroy? I think not.

We have all the Twilight books but I haven't read them. Kristen read them all and enjoyed them until the end. She is on Team Jacob as well. She refused to see the movie because she got so turned off by the hype.

  13. Kassa says:

I read the series. I liked them (waits for arrows). Well I loathed the last one to the very core of my little black heart. But yanno – I liked the series. The movies, meh not so much.

The hype is just as annoying as all the hate to be honest. It's a decent series. I personally enjoyed the first 3 books more than the first 3 Harry Potter books. While HP are better written with more world building, at least Twilight isn't about young kids :/.

I didn't mind the sparkly vamp in the book since yanno he didn't shine LOL. Who cares? Everyone slams this or loves it and I don't get the hype either way. It's a semi-decent series that got made into a movie. I can list thousands like that.

    But that's just me lol

  14. Tracy says:

I'm sick of the hype as well – it's certainly not just you. I haven't watched the first movie and don't plan on watching the second one.

  15. Kris says:

Tam: I love your daughter. 🙂

Kassa: I'm pretty much the same. I thought the series was ok until that last book, which was completely sucky. I'll be watching the movies, but it will be wait for dvd for me cos I was disappointed with the first adaptation.

I'm absolutely guilty – if it wasn't obvious – of the hate thing. Considering how I felt about the books, I think my now loathing of the sparkliness is mainly due to the hype and my mixed feelings about the first movie. I'm fickle. *sigh*

    Tracy: The hype = blech.

  16. orannia says:

But really can there ever be another Coco or Leroy?

Nope. I don't think there will ever be another Leroy 🙂

And I only saw the Twilight movie and read the book 2 months ago…Tam – I'm with your daughter, Team Jacob all the way. A friend from work and I are going to go and see New Moon…once a couple of weeks have passed from the opening wkd so that we don't have to watch it with screaming people 🙂
