The analysis: I aced ‘try different authors and genres’ and I also developed my own slack-arse version of reviewing.
The conclusion: Apparently, I am an unrepentant book slut *quelle shock* who will occasionally do the review thing if I must.
In other words, I basically suck.
Told you I would.
That's why I never make resolutions…
I'm getting a lot better about toughing it out until things hit Fictionwise. That said, I sure hit Fictionwise hard on Mondays. š
Resolutions are stupid. You did pretty well, better than most probably. LOL
“In other words, I basically suck”
Birds of a feather… So what does that say about the rest of us here?
And if there are so many of us then that means it's all good. Let the slutiness/suckiness continue.
A proud book slut.
Suzi.
Oh, yeah, what I meant to say was “Thank you for helping me embrace my book sluttiness, Kris, and stand proud.” Promoting increased acceptance of book sluttery SHOULD have been one of your readolutions, because you aced it. š
I never make resolutions – makes my failures too obvious.
Instead I say “I hope to…” and that way I'm not so disappointed with myself because I don't feel like I broke a promise to myself. Also if I say “I hope…” to a lot of things, chances are I will do at least SOME of them and I can look at that and say “Well I didn't completely fail…”.
MsM
By the way, I have my review of the m/m movie “Shelter” on my blog today.
:o)
You can't have it all Kris š
I thought you'd done quite well, actually. Perhaps trying to restrict your book buying was just a step too far. Oh well, you live and learn, my dear. š
Let this be a lesson to all of you; occasionally, very occasionally, even my awesomeness has a hiccup.
Chris: And you try and get us all to join you in your FW spree too. Don't forget that part, Chris.
“Promoting increased acceptance of book sluttery SHOULD have been one of your readolutions, because you aced it.”
*adds that to 2010 list*
Tam: Actually, I'm pretty astonished that I did even half of that. LOL.
Suzi, you're my new BFF. I really like enablers. *beams*
MsM, I think I'll take a page out of your book this time round so as to avoid a full 10 mins of angst when I realised I sucked like I did this year.
Ingrid: True. I should be prepared for these very infrequent instances of semi-failure. š
Jenre, thanks. “Perhaps trying to restrict your book buying was just a step too far.”
Good point. I'm never doing that again.
You know, you can configure your FW newsletter prefs so you get a nice listing of the m/m titles they add each week… š
Get thee behind me, Chrisatan.
Why do I have a feeling that you're working on a version of my avatar that has horns?!
How the hell do you do that Chris. I can never find anything there. I search Gay Romance but it would be nice if there was a section that was easy to find.
Just sent you an email, Tam…
Kris, it's not really a *fail* if you tried. Your site is made of total awesomeness and you are a book slut extraordinaire. Can't really ask for more than that! š
Chris: “Why do I have a feeling that you're working on a version of my avatar that has horns?!”
*hehehe*
Lily: All good, not to mention very true, points, Lily. š
BTW, did I tell you that when I saw your knew avi I thought it said 'I love cocks'? I was pretty disappointed when I realised what it really said. LOL.
ROFLMAO!!!
Yeah, I love those too, but my avi's about books. You perv!! ;D
Lily, actually I'm pretty sure it's you cos remember the sperm Xmas tree…
Nuff said.
You no fail! You just succeeded in part *grin*
And if it helps, you can't be any worse at reviewing than I am. I reviewed…four books I think this year, and I've trying to write a review for one book that I read almost 6 months ago! And I have to review it as I can't read the sequel until that review is written!
Orannia: “You just succeeded in part *grin*”
I like it and I'm keeping it.
Reviews. Blech. I've got a number to do for Wave's blog. š¦
