I just created a new category for historical romance covers…
I call it Regency Butt. What do you think?
Who knew they had boxer briefs in those days?!
Was that even allowed in them there parts in them there days…
very strokeable – much…
I agree with E.H. Very strokeable. I think we need more examples of regency butt.
Chris: Where are the boxer briefs? Have you suddenly discovered that you have xray vision??
EH: What was allowed? Half nekkid miltary men standing in open doors with snow coming in??
Well, obviously. Duh. 😉
Eyre: “I think we need more examples of regency butt.”
I'm waiting… *taps foot*
Are those his pants then? Don't mind me – you'd be horrified at how little history I had in school. 🙂
Yes, they are his 'pants'. They are breeches: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breeches
On the plus side, you'll be pleased that I do not intend to write any historical books of any sort. 🙂
Chris: Ah, that glass half full thing. Yeah, no. Your history knowledge still sucks. 😛
Lori: I just realised I should have entitled this post 'maybe it's me, butt…' 😉
Am I the only one who thinks his butt and his upper body don't match up? Maybe it's the words throwing it off but it feels like his butt is 6 inches further to the left.
Those look more like football 'breeches' with padding underneath!
Tam: Yep. You are.
Jase: *sigh* You Yanks are hopeless. Those are the original versions without the padding.
Having said that, some Regency dudes did pad their clothes so as to cut a more 'manly' figure. The Regency version of a codpiece. 😉
I think Jason has a good point. This guy screams stock pic. I think it's only a matter of time before we see him on the cover of a book with a football in his hand looking out over a ball field:). He'll go from regency butt to jock butt without even having to change his “breeches”
Very nice!! I have always loved Lindsey's covers…but this has to be one of my favorites…such yummy candy!
Jackie: Bite your tongue! There's no stock photos for this author. Only pretties posing with their pert butts.
Renee: Oh, for the days of a wind swept and mostly nekkid Fabio as one of Lindsey's Alpha heroes. *swoon*
I think I would like to know more 🙂
And the word 'breeches' has me thinking of Jilly Cooper…
More about Regency Butt, Orannia? You perve. ;P
What?!? Did they let Fabio out of his retirement home? You might want to watch his back Kris.
Miranda: Are we all Butt girls or what? lol
Ingrid: So I may have googled Fabio yesterday… just for research purposes, of course… *cough*… did you know that he did over 400 romance covers in the 1980s and 1990s? No wonder so many of us had a thing for him. Talk about tacit marketing.
Think it was the hair..
Out of curiousity is Fabio dead?…
EH: Nope. Apparently he wants to retire to Oz and have babies…
I still have a chance…
Are you committing adultery already Kris? Or have you given up Sir T?
Are you stepping out on Sir Terry then…
I thought Fabio was all kinda odd even in his hay day – all that hair – freaked me the hell out..
I wonder if he's gone bald…
HOW VERY DARE YOU BOTH?! I WOULD NEVER GIVE UP, SIR TERRY!
I do dare! You said it yrself -> wants to have babies with Fabio, while a few days ago it was Sir T.
And before you get the trout out, I have very good fishing gear here and Rick Steins cookbook, how to cook them
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Good one, Ingrid. ❤
