Let’s face it, a tattoo on a guy can be sexy as. And, in erotica and romance, the descriptions of tattoos being traced by smutty mouths are steamy to say the least.
But what about those tatts in, err, unusual places?
In my reading I’ve come across two examples of characters with these types of tattoos. Those that have caused eye imprintage anyways.
One of these was in *drum roll* Sean Micheal’s – c’mon, you should have guessed that! – Fits Like A Glove where the sub was inked with a dragon who’s tail tip went up inside his, well, butt. 
The second was in Willa Okati’s In the Strangest Places in which the main character’s, Daniel’s, cock was tattooed by his artist lover. *whimpers*
So, my question, do these tatts still evoke the same response in you as a reader of erotica and romance?
Personally, and being a tatt geek who knows exactly how much these bastards can hurt, I’m on my hands and knees begging for the character to arrive in the story in fully inked glory.

Guys with tatts = Smexy!
Guys getting owwy tatts, insta-healing and then fucking like rabbits = No. No. No. No. No!

Love me a tattooed boy. Sigh. Yeah, I don't really want to read about it happening in sensitive places (Willa Okati's book) but once it's done and looking good I'm very happy with it.
This is soooo NOT NOT NOT SFW, the name of the file should give it away, ouchy. Not sure that works for me. LOL It may be a bit too far. So while I don't mind tattoos in sensitive spots, I'm more of a traditional girl. But if the tattoos are mentioned in the blurb, I will likely buy it no questions.

One tattoo that always made me curious was the one in Gemini, there is vague refernce made to his tattoo “down there” but never a description. I wanna know.

Tattoos are great! I especially like to see it in cover art. Sometimes I got to wonder, though, like for the gorgeous cover art for Bound by Deception by Ava March here:

I mean are those Maori tattoos on Regency era British gentlemen, which makes no sense to me, or am I just thinking about Maori tattoos because of this superimposed design thing the artist has going on the cover?

Having watched a buddy of mine in Guam get the top portion of his dick tattooed, I have to say reading about the experience is not something I want to do (really the guy cried like a baby with snot and all, and he walked funny for weeks!). But the after effects are great:3 So I really prefer reading about men already inked.

I read a story recently (and no it wasn't SM) where the hero had a tattoo which went up his penis. I think it may have been an AM Riley book, but I can't remember now. I did think 'ow that must have been a bit sore' but on a roughty, toughty alpha it's almost a given that he'll have a naughty tattoo somewhere.
I do have a great fondness for tattoos, but only one or two. The ones who go mad and have every inch of their bodies tattooed are not sexy, just slightly insane.

I love tatts – I don't mind reading it on body parts. I have a couple myself and I don't think I could EVER do it in a sensitive area. But fun in fiction 🙂

There was another one recently Jen for me as well, I can't think of it now. Seems to me it had to do with a dragon. That's going to make me crazy now.

In lover and commander one of the protags also has thats extending to his dick. He actually admitted it hurt like hell.
What I also like are yakuza tattoo's. those are like a work of art and are one piece of stead of all sorts of tattoo's next to each other.

I think tattoos on naughty parts look cool; but as a tattoo is technically an open, healing wound for about two weeks, I don't recommend sticking one's freshly-inked wiener into another's orifice(s). That's a hell of a lot of opportunity for some really funky infections.

Kris, these “first” posts are really making me laugh… My “firsts” are all related to some SM's book too! XD I've read the one with the tattoo in unmentionable places (nononono), and the one with the slightly crazy and creepy (to me at least) hero fixated on enemas, and the one with the off-kilter sub twins who find their perfect balancing Dom, and the one… you get my drift 😉
Willa Okati's book was more believable I think, I mean, it was said they didn't have sex for a long while after the cock tattoo was done, IIRC.

This summer I was following the World Aquatics Championships and I happened to see an interview with a French swimmer, I don't remember his name – he has a large tattoo that covers one of his shoulder and pec and finishes with a kind of swirl around his nipple – I was so mesmerized by that tiny whirl I didn't even heard what he was saying 😉

I love tatts and have one. The guy who did my tatt (many moons ago) had also tattooed his own dick. While he was tattooing me he was telling me about how he had to keep himself erect to do it and how its not easy when you're piercing yourself with ink and there is nothing sexy going on. He had me cracking up with self tattooing stories.

Jen, I think it was Rob Knight Spilled Ink one of those Arcana things. For some reason I don't have it on my computer at home and TQ won't let you download once it's past a certain date but I'm Rooster had that tattoo. He was a tattoo artist and they always have freaky tattoos. LOL
