dear publisher

Dear Douche

You know I bloody well hate it when you change the design of a book cover mid series, but to do it a third time?!

What the fuck is the matter with you?!

Does no one in there understand the value of consistent branding?  Never mind the phrase ‘Beware A Pissed Off Reader With A Machete’??

Geezus.

You suck big, fat, hairy donkey ballz with jock-itch.

Insincerely, me.

    Publisher FAIL. WTF?!??

  2. Tam says:

That's odd. I don't care for #2, but to make each one so different is weird, even the font.

  3. Hmmm these are the Aus. versions then? That is annoying. They have all been consistently Daniel Dos Santos covers in the US.

  4. Kris says:

Chris: Tell me about it. It's the suck.

Tam: It's not weird. It's fucking annoying is what it is.

Tiffany: These are actually the UK versions. Apparently Australian publishers are institutionalised because of their convict fore fathers.

  5. Kris says:

Ingrid: I know! It's like they are deliberately trying to provoke my OCD. Bastages!

  6. Ingrid says:

*nods* it sure looks like it

  7. Tracy says:

I've always thought it was weird that the foreign covers were different from the American covers. Why is that? Are ours not good enough? It would seem to me that it would be easier to keep the same photo cover and just change the language. But that's me.

And yes, that is effin annoying. Sorry.

  8. Kris says:

Ingrid: Why do they hate me, Ingrid??

    WHY?!

Tracy: “Are ours not good enough?”

Apparently everything US sucks. Don't take it to heart though. 😛

I hear you. I so hear you. Until it is released in paperback (and I work out what cover goes with the books I already have) I'm not buying it. I know going to hardback is great for the author (and I love Patricia Briggs and wish her every success as that means more books 🙂 but…I like my books to be the same size!!!! (I would have capitalized, but that would be a lot of capitals.

Oh, and dear publisher of Deanna Raybourn's Lady Julia Grey series – until you pick a cover and STICK with it, I'm not buying ANYTHING!

It's those bloody Brits and their Imperialist ways. The buggers. I want a republic, dammit!

  11. Kaetrin says:

    I. Know.

    Don't. Even. Get. Me. Started.

    GRRRRR

…It is one of the huge advantages of ebooks though.

  12. Kris says:

The only way I get through such occasions, Kaetrin, is with the knowledge that those who change the covers mid series are all going to hell.
