random awesomeness

I posted the below on Twitter (so no, JenB, you aren’t experiencing deja vu), but thought I’d share again with all of you since it is so very cool.

the worst thing about pron

I know, I know.

The title of this post is quite possibly the last thing you thought you would have seen on my blog, but, kid you not, I have discovered something horrifically bad about internet pron.

Is it running out of batteries you ask?

No. *mutterfilthypervesmutters* It’s something much, MUCH worse.

It’s the fact that the ‘are you over 18?’ is a constant fucking reminder of exactly how old I am!

As if I need any bloody help with that! Grrrrr.

Besides, obviously, looking at the prettie cookies, the only thing which would make it any better would be an option with the answer yes-I-am-over-18-and-thank-you-so-very-fucking-much-for-asking-why-don’t-you-just-pour-a-little-bit-of-acid-over-that-hole-you-just-stabbed-into-my-ego-and-then-ask-me-why-I’m-searching-the-internet-for-pron-instead-of-doing-it-myself-you-judgemental-wankers-you-know-what-take-your-stupid-arse-site-and-shove-it-where-the-sun-don’t-shine-AND-MAY-THE-REST-OF-YOUR-MISERABLE-SEX-LIFE-BE-LIKE-AN-OUT-OF-DATE-CONDOM-YOU-AGEIST-BASTAGES!

*ahem*

So, yeah, I don’t really like that part much.

chrolli cookies

Because Emilie, her friend A and I adore Chrolli (aka Christian and Olli from Verbotene Liebe).

Because everyone should be converted to the awesomeness that is them.

And because they’re getting married!

SQUEE!!!!!

*sniffle*

So on that sappy note, I hope everyone has a great weekend!

where’s a hot tub when you need one?

Some of you may vaguely recall my wee rant when some crazy heads a few of my blogger pals were going on about how wonderful it would be to live in the regency world.

I put forward my own thoughts about such an idea *coughpsychoscough*, and I was recently reminded of this when talking to my favourite redheaded Texan about an upcoming release.

Why, you ask? As if you’ve suddenly forgotten how completely and utterly random I am.

Because the story in question is a time travel romance.

Yeah, sorry, but the whole idea of twu wuv meaning you’ll live the rest of your life, which just decreased dramatically btw, without a flushing loo doesn’t really work for me.

So, are you off your rocker and love you some destined-time-travel-mates crap? Or do you think it would be important and, more importantly, sane to have access to proper medical treatment (ie epidural), white household goods, a sanitized environment, etc, etc?

m/m graphic novel appreciation series: a guest post by sarah (nsfw)

My next guest in this series is the very cool Sarah of Rain on the Roof and the infamous pron blog.

Not only is she a fellow antipodean; coming from the land of sheeps and hobbitses, but it was she who started the domino affect that was the Black Wade phenomenon.

*moment of silent drooling awe*

Please welcome, Sarah!

Kris, forewarned, is forearmed. Lets just assume none of the following links are safe for work. Although, why in gods name one would surf at work is beyond me. They’re supposed to be working!! Kris: So there, you slackers! 😛

When I was younger we had a few old penthouses floating about the house that I used to sneak out to have a nosey at. This was my formal introduction to boobs, the occasional cock and beautifully illustrated erotic comics in the form of Oh, Wicked Wanda, written by Frederic Mullally and illustrated by Ron Embleton. She was Penthouse’s answer to Playboy’s Little Annie Fanny, except she was always far cooler and most definitely more sexy.

Of course a lot of the political satire inherent within the stories went miles over my wee head, but I enjoyed them anyway. Wanda was such a fantastic character with very few redeeming features. In the 80’s when my female role models came in the form of Wonder Woman, Thelma and the truly outrageous Jem – Wanda ruled them all. AND I ALWAYS wanted a sidekick/lover like Candyfloss. Puss cake.

I do really enjoy reading erotic comics. I like owning and having them on my shelf even more. I have coveting issues. I like comics that are frank and explicit in the nature of the sex they portray, but I also like a little bit of feeling too. It’s a little like my feelings about porn and why I like the idea of what Travis Mathews is doing with his new film. I digress…

I’m not really sure how I got into reading gay erotic comics, I just did. The internet has a huge part to play in this. It opens so many opportunities for reading stuff that appeals, but I would not get exposure to in traditional stores. I’m not sure what it is about erotic gay comics that does appeal to me; I mean, I like guys and guys bodies and yeah, I like sex too, but guys having sex together is beautiful and I do find it more appealing than het erotic comics. I don’t tend to navel gaze too much about this though, I just like it. I like spanish canned peaches from the local deli too.

Stylistically, there are a few artists that really float my boat and while I like some yaoi artists, I don’t always find it as appealing as say bara manga and more muscular, explicit comics. Some artists just do pictures and some write whole books. Below is some of the stuff that I really like and think is worth having a nosey at. Oh, and by no means am I am expert. I just know what I like. There are several articles written here by Tina Anderson, that are absolutely worth reading about art and stuff and I think she’s a bit of a smarty. Patrick Fillion also has his Boytoons Mag which not only showcases his own work, but loads of others too.

These are a few artists that I really enjoy. Just a few, because the list is rather long!!

Patrick Fillion – gorgeously heouge man bits, beautiful color and he’s not only a smarty but a super nice guy.

Franze and Andärle – beautiful Pirate Black Wade. I hope they write more!

Mikemen – long, sinuous penises with beautiful color and unique style. Interview here.

Silencio – just beautiful, masculine and gorgeous.

Benoit Prevot – writes the sublime Angelface. Stunning.

Jacopo Camagni – I have a crush on his work and his beard.

PL Nunn – lovely yaoi goodness.

Bara Manga – gorgeous, muscular guys. Sex on a stick. I especially LOVE Takeshi Matsu.

The last one I’m pretty into a the moment is J Bone. Super funky art.

There are loads more artists and writers I admire and enjoy. There are links on my blog and I occasionally twitter about stuff too. If you’ve any to share, please do!

maybe it’s me, but…

I was reading an author’s bio the other day and in the very first sentence it was pointed out that their name was a pseudonym.

As many of you know, I don’t generally have a problem with pen names but in this particular instance the author’s name was so clearly pulled from out of their arse made up that my response to it being a pseudonym… ‘well, no fucking shit, Sherlock’.

I mean, c’mon. Give a reader some credit why don’t you.

Geezus.

things that make you go O_o (nsfw)

Question for you:

Who here prefers the phrase ‘fucking him raw’ to be metaphorical as opposed to being literal?

Cos I gotta tell you that when I recently read it in both a yaoi manga and an m/m romance… well, it had my orifice clenching… and not in a good way.

kris is curious

It’s really not that scary this time. Promise. 🙂

I was just wondering…

Do you prefer reading m/m romance and erotica with characters who have a top/bottom relationship or do you like a ‘versatile’ (TM Emilie) couple?

Or are you too pervy to give a toss either way?

Guess which choice my money is on. 😉
